US equity indexes closed very significantly higher, SPX +75pts (1.8%) at 4176. Nasdaq comp' +2.7%. Dow +1.3%. The Transports settled +2.1%. R2K +2.4%.

Summary
US equities opened a little weak, as Microsoft eroded pre-market gains, due to lowered guidance on the excuse of a stronger dollar.
However, all the bears could manage was sp'4074, before battling upward to build very significant gains into the late afternoon.
Volatility was mixed, the VIX printing 26.50, but cooling back to settle -3.8% to 24.72.
