US equity indexes mostly closed broadly higher, SPX +39pts (0.9%) at 4160. Nasdaq comp' +0.9%. Dow +0.8%. The Transports settled +0.1%. R2K +1.6%.

Summary
US equities opened broadly weak, but all the bears could manage was sp'4080, before a choppy recovery into the afternoon.
Meanwhile...
The Cramer remains reflective of many... he is surprised by struggling retail, and remains in denial about the recession.
Here in the UK, May y/y retail sales were -1.1%, and when you consider inflation of 9.0%.... its way worse.
Volatility was mixed, the VIX printing 26.24, but settling -4.2% to 24.02.
