Summary
US equities opened in minor chop mode, but rather impressively built significant gains into the early afternoon. The SPX printed 3859, with the market seeing a brief washout to 3786, dragged lower by an implosion in bitcoin.
The mid/late afternoon saw another push upward, with all the main indexes settling net higher to some degree.
Volatility remained subdued, the VIX settling +4.9% to 25.54.
