Summary
US equities opened on a positive note, but the gains were shaky from the start, with indexes turn marginally negative. The market effectively entered a holding pattern ahead of Thursday's CPI, which is going to shape how we trade into the weekend.
Volatility was mixed, the VIX printing a new cycle high of 34.53, if settling -0.2% to 33.57.
