Summary
US equities opened on the most bullish note possible, with the SPX jumping straight into the 4700s, and printing 4718. The early afternoon saw the SPX cool back for what was an effective fill of the opening gap to 4681. The mid/late afternoon saw a secondary wave upward to settle at 4697... which made for a black candle.
Volatility picked up, if only a little, VIX settling +6.7% to 16.48.
