US equity indexes closed very significantly lower, SPX -56pts (1.4%) at 3861. Nasdaq comp' -1.8%. Dow -1.1%. The Transports settled -2.5%. R2K -2.9%.

Summary
US equities opened a little weak, with an early low of 3874, and pushing to 3934. From there... another spiral lower to 3846. The late afternoon saw considerable chop, settling at 3861.
Volatility spiked, the VIX printing 28.97 - the highest since mid Oct'2022, if cooling back to settle +9.7% to 24.80.
