US equity indexes closed rather mixed, SPX +8pts (0.2%) at 4090. Nasdaq comp' -0.6%. Dow +0.5%. The Transports settled -0.2%. R2K +0.2%.

Summary
US equities opened a little weak, but all the bears could manage was 4060, with a quick bounce to 4090. From there... rather tedious chop that stretched into the late afternoon to 4092, and settling at 4090.
Volatility was a little mixed, the VIX printing 21.94, but cooling back to settle -0.9% to 20.53.
