US equity indexes mostly closed very significantly lower, SPX -62pts (1.6%) at 3928. Nasdaq comp' -1.2%. Dow -1.8%. The Transports settled -0.4%. R2K -1.6%.

Summary
US equities opened a little higher, with the spx printing 4014, just 1pt shy of Tuesday's high. From there... a full reversal to rather significant declines, printing 3939. The mid afternoon saw a rally attempt... but it failed, with a new intraday low of 3926.
Volatility was a little mixed, the VIX swinging from 18.97 to 20.58, and settling +5.1% to 20.34.
