US equity indexes closed a little mixed, SPX -8pts (0.2%) at 3990. Nasdaq comp' +0.1%. Dow -1.1%. The Transports settled -0.05%. R2K -0.1%.

Summary
US equities began the short week in minor chop mode. Whilst the SPX did print a new multi-week high of 4015, the day was outright tedious chop.
Volatility picked up, but the move was largely technical (old options rolling off, replaced with higher priced ones), the VIX settling +5.5% to 19.36.
