SPX - daily

Summary

US equities began the last twelfth of the year in minor chop mode, but the SPX did lean upward to print a new cycle high of 4100. From there... some cooling to 4050, with minor chop into the late afternoon to settle at 4076.

Volatility was ground lower, the VIX settling -3.6% to 19.84, the first close under the key 20 threshold since August 18th.

After the bullish monthly settlement above the monthly 10MA, and the daily 200MA, the equity bears have nothing to tout unless <3900 (to be decisive), with VIX confirming via >23s.
