Summary
US equities opened significantly lower, not helped by some econ-data, and weak European markets, the latter riled up by rate hikes from the BoE and ECB.
Equities spiraled into the mid afternoon to 3879. The late afternoon saw considerable positive leaning chop, but that still made for a distinctly bearish Thursday.
Volatility picked up... if only moderately, the VIX settling +8.0% to 22.83.
