US equity indexes mostly closed on a positive note, SPX +30pts (0.8%) at 3798. Nasdaq comp' +1.5%. Dow +0.4%. The Transports settled -0.4%.

Meanwhile...
For those who are anti-oil, the news is great, as Keystone XL appears set to be blocked by exec' order. Rather than a more efficient pipeline, Oil can be expected to continue to be transported by train and by road. This is environmental policy... at its most insane.

The afternoon saw considerable chop, if leaning to the weaker side. Broadly though, it was a distinctly positive end to the Trump era.
Volatility was ground lower, the VIX settling -4.5% to 23.24.
