Are we learning yet?

US equity indexes mostly closed on a weak note, SPX -30pts (0.7%) at 4170. Nasdaq comp' -0.3%. Dow -0.6%. The Transports settled -0.4%. R2K +0.6%.

US equities opened choppy, an early bounce failed, with the market leaning weak ahead of Biden...



Indeed, Mr Cancel Keystone argued that the US needs to become energy independent. Wasn't there someone else who also called for that, but continues to be slated for his 'America first' view?

More than anything, all equity bounces are to be seen as such, yes?


The afternoon saw yet another failed bounce, swinging very significantly lower from 4276 to 4168 into the close.

Volatility was mixed, the VIX printing 37.52, but cooling back to settle -3.6% to 35.13.

Regardless of Wednesday, Thursday will offer more drama, with the latest inflation data.
