SPX - daily

VIX - daily

Summary

US equities opened on a positive note, but the gains were shaky from the start, with indexes turning moderately lower by mid morning. From there... another wave upward into the early afternoon. The afternoon saw yet another swing lower... with the main market settling broadly weak.

Volatility remains elevated, the VIX settling -0.8% to 30.48.

Meanwhile, in the failed state of the UK, oil/fuel prices continue to climb...

Unleaded gasoline: 151.9 pence per liter, x 3.785 (liter> US gallon) x 1.3329 (GBP >USD) = $7.66... some 13cents higher than yesterday. $8.00 next week?
