US equity indexes closed very significantly lower, SPX -111pts (2.4%) at 4477. Nasdaq comp' -3.7%. Dow -1.5%. The Transports settled -1.7%. R2K -1.9%.

Summary
US equities opened significantly lower, lead lower by tech... not helped via FB and SPOT. There were a few bounce attempts, but all failed, with the market sliding into the late afternoon.
Volatility picked up, the VIX settling +10.2% to 24.35.
As I often note... Thursdays do tend to favour the bears. Now its case of how the week settles.
