US equity indexes mostly closed lower, SPX -17pts (0.4%) at 4401. Nasdaq comp' u/c. Dow -0.5%. The Transports settled +0.8%. R2K -0.3%.

Summary
US equities opened choppy, and that continued into the early afternoon. Yet another Russia/Ukraine headline saw the SPX slide from 4426 to 4364. The late afternoon saw a recovery, but really... it remains a distinctly shaky market.
Volatility picked up, the VIX printing 32.04, if cooling back to settle +3.5% to 28.33. The s/t cyclical setup favours the equity bulls... if only a day or two.
