US equities opened on a positive note, but the gains were shaky from the start, with the SPX swinging from 5993 to 5918. There was a bounce to 5975. The afternoon saw another swing lower to 5858, and settling very significantly lower at 5861.
Volatility was mixed, the VIX had an opening low of 18.02, but settling +10.6% to 21.13
