Summary
US equities opened on a positive note, with the SPX printing a new hist' high of 5878. The gains were shaky though, with some cooling... if only to 5843. There was a secondary bounce into the afternoon, with renewed cooling to turn fractionally negative, and settling at 5841.
Volatility was ground lower for the sixth day of eight, the VIX settling -2.4% to 19.11.
