US equity indexes closed rather mixed, SPX +7pts (0.1%) at 5291. Nasdaq comp' +0.2%. Dow +0.4%. The Transports settled -0.9%. R2K -1.3%

Summary
Equities opened a little weak... with choppy cooling to 5257. Once again, there was a latter day recovery to settle fractionally higher at 5291. For the SPX... it was a turnaround Tuesday, if somewhat muted. For the two leaders - Trans/R2K... broad declines.
Volatility was a little mixed, the VIX printing 13.98, but cooling back to settle +0.4% at 13.16.
