US equity indexes closed rather mixed, SPX +14pts (0.3%) at 5375. Nasdaq comp' +0.9%. Dow -0.3%. The Transports settled -0.9%. R2K -0.4%

Summary
US equities opened on a weak note, but once again... the bears could only manage 5327. From there... a rather significant upside swing, with Apple leading the way, the SPX settling at a new historic high of 5375.
Volatility was a little mixed, the VIX printing 13.47, but cooling back to settle +0.9% to 12.85.
As for Apple...
... a rather ludicrous net daily gain, breaking a new hist' high, settling +7.3% to $207.15.
