The day began in pre-market with the latest CPI data...
Equities saw initial downside... but it was very brief, with the SPX opening moderately higher. The gains were shaky, with the SPX cooling to turn fractionally negative to 5114. From there... a secondary upward push, to settle at 5175.
Volatility was ground lower, the VIX settling -9.1% to 13.84.
