US equity indexes closed rather mixed, SPX +4pts (0.1%) at 4109. Nasdaq comp' -0.03%. Dow +0.3%. The Transports settled +1.6%. R2K +1.1%.

Summary
US equities opened on a weak note, with the SPX printing 4072. From there... a recovery into the late afternoon, settling fractionally higher at 4109. Broadly though, it was a pretty quiet Monday, with many still on Easter break, not least those on the eastern side of the Atlantic.
Volatility picked up, the VIX printing 20.05, but cooling back to settle +3.1% to 18.97.
