US equity indexes closed broadly weak, SPX -31pts (0.7%) at 4465. Nasdaq comp' -1.1%. Dow -0.6%. The Transports settled -0.7%. R2K -0.3%

Summary
US equities opened a little lower, and whilst there were a few bounce attempts, the SPX slid to 4442 in the early afternoon. From there... a bounce, settling at 4465.
Volatility picked up, the VIX printing 15.30, if cooling back to settle +3.1% to 14.45.
