Summary
US equities began the short week on a positive note, the SPX printing a new hist' high of 3950. The opening gains were a little shaky though, with some cooling into the early afternoon.
Meanwhile...
Indeed, now we have WTIC printing the $60s, with copper nearing psy' $4.00. There is increasing background chatter of 'oil to $100', as some believe that Mr Inflation is set to finally appear.
Then there is this...
The 'Rescue plan', to recover from all those Corona related restrictions... oh right... yeah, another $1.9trn of debt, of which print central will be covering (at least) half of.
The afternoon saw considerable chop, but with a new hist' high, it was indeed to be seen as a positive start to the week.
Volatility picked up, the VIX settling +7.5% to 21.46. However, today's gains were almost entirely technical, due to it being a new week.
