US equity indexes mostly closed moderately lower, sp -23pts (0.7%) at 3488. Nasdaq comp' -0.8%. Dow -0.6%. The Transports settled +0.9%.

Summary
US equities opened in minor chop mode... leaning on the upward side. After considerable chop into late morning, comments from US T-Sec' Mnuchin that House Speaker Pelosi was resistant to a separate airline bill, was the excuse for broad downside into the mid afternoon.
The late afternoon saw further chop, leaning on the weaker side into the close.
Volatility picked up... if only a little, the VIX settling +1.3% to 26.40.
