Summary

US equities opened broadly higher, and built very significant gains into the mid afternoon, with the SPX printing 3549, just 39pts shy of the Sept' historic high.

Most notable today was the US President, who tweeted more on the market and economy today than I've perhaps ever seen...

Some have rightly said across the last few years... 'live by the stock market... die by the stock market'. For now... Trump is on the right side of the trend. No doubt, he'll go radio silent on the next cooling wave, or blame 'Sleepy Joe' or 'Crazy Nancy'. I will merely add, it remains 'a sideline curiosity' to witness this.

The late afternoon saw a touch of cooling, but that still resulted in significant gains for most indexes.

Volatility notably held up across the day, with the VIX settling +0.3% to 25.07.
