Summary
US equities opened significantly lower on China's “If you wish to fight, we shall fight to the end”.
The SPX printed an opening low of 6555... 5pts above the Friday low.
From there... a turnaround to print a high of 6680. A Trump post on Truth Social (complaining about the Chinese not buying Soybeans) saw closing hour cooling to settle at 6644.
Volatility was very mixed, the VIX printing a new cycle high of 22.94, but cooling back to 19.18, and settling +9.3% to 20.81.
