Summary
US equities opened on a weak note, but all the bears could manage was 5865. There was a recovery into the afternoon, printing 5924, and settling at 5916.
Volatility was a little mixed, the VIX printing an early high of 18.97, if cooling back to settle -4.2% to 17.83.
