Weekend update - World equity markets

It was a bearish month for most world equity markets, with net monthly changes ranging from -10.4% (Russia), -5.8% (India), -1.8% (Brazil), -1.7% (China), -1.4% (Australia), -1.3% (USA, Germany), -0.8% (South Africa), +3.1% (Japan), to +8.9% (Argentina).

Lets take our regular look at ten of the world equity markets.

USA - Dow

Russia - RTSI


India – SENSEX


China – Shanghai comp'


South Africa – Dow

Argentina - MerVal


Australia – AORD



Summary

Eight world equity markets were net lower for October, with two net higher.

The Russian market lead the way down, whilst the Argentinian market was strongest.

The USA, German, South African, Argentinian, and Australian markets broke new hist' highs.

Nine world equity markets have positive monthly momentum, are trading above their respective monthly 10MA, the exception being Russia.
