Summary
US equities opened moderately higher, but the gains were shaky from the start. The SPX swung from an opening high of 5224, with a mini spiral to 5160. From around 11am, a recovery to 5194. The afternoon saw considerable chop, if leaning upward to settle at 5209.
Volatility was mixed, the VIX printing 15.08 at the open, a mini spike to 16.63, if cooling back to settle -1.4% to 14.98.
