US equity indexes closed a little mixed, SPX +0.7pts (0.02%) at 4227. Nasdaq comp' +0.3%. Dow -0.1%. The Transports settled +0.3%.

Summary
It was another day of considerable minor chop. Equities opened a little higher, but the gains were shaky, with the SPX quickly turning negative... if only fractionally.
The late morning saw a little cooling to 4208, but then a bounce back to fractionally positive, which was how the market mostly stayed across the afternoon.
Volatility was itself subdued, the VIX settling +4.0% to 17.07.
