Summary
US equities opened moderately higher, and it was plenty enough for the SPX to print yet another new historic high of 7793. From there... choppy cooling to 7720, and settling marginally lower at 7723.
Volatility was mixed, with the VIX seeing a brief hyper spike to 18.43 for no good reason, if imploding back lower to settle -4.2% to 15.81.
