Summary
US equities opened in minor chop mode, but the SPX still managed yet another new cycle high of 4393. From there... considerable chop into the early afternoon. There was a decisive break lower, printing 4343, and settling broadly lower at 4347.
Volatility picked up, the VIX printing a (cash market) low of 14.43, a mini spike to 15.57, and settling +5.8% at 15.29.
