US equity indexes closed very significantly higher, SPX +80pts (2.0%) at 4088. Nasdaq comp' +2.8%. Dow +1.3%. The Transports settled +3.2%. R2K +3.1%.

Summary
US equities opened on a positive note, and whilst the early gains were shaky, there was a secondary push, with the market battling upward into the mid afternoon to 4081. Powell appeared, which made for the excuse for a mini washout, before yet another push upward to 4090, and settling at 4088.
Volatility was ground lower for a sixth consecutive day, the VIX settling -5.0% to 26.10.
