An ugly Thursday

US equity indexes closed powerfully lower, SPX -152pts (3.6%) at 4146. Nasdaq comp' -5.0%. Dow -3.1%. The Transports settled -2.9%. R2K -4.0%.

SPX - daily

VIX - daily

Summary

US equities opened broadly lower, and spiraled across the day. Wednesday's gains were fully reversed, as the market remains m/t broken.

Indeed, if I can emphasise anything... this market is MID TERM BROKEN.

Mr 'Big Short' Burry would agree...

-
The late afternoon saw the SPX break a new intraday low of 4106, if recovering by around 1.0% to 4147.

Volatility spiked, the VIX settling +22.7% to 31.20. Regardless of Friday... this market is headed broadly lower to the sp'3500s, and that won't please the mainstream cheerleaders.
