US equity indexes closed on a weak note, SPX -20pts (0.5%) at 4493. Nasdaq comp' -0.2%. Dow -0.4%. The Transports settled -1.1%.

Yours truly did start Thursday in a '... and I'm all out of bubble gum' mood. It is often a good idea to regularly 'cleanse' those Twitter followers whom don't like notions such as liberty, freedom, and capitalism.

The afternoon saw considerable chop, ending on a weak note, with the SPX printing a new intraday low of 4492.07. Volatility picked up a little more, the VIX settling +4.7% to 18.80.
