US equity indexes closed rather mixed, SPX +13pts (0.3%) at 4141. Nasdaq comp' +1.0%. Dow -0.2%. The Transports settled -0.7%.

Summary
It was yet another day of considerable micro chop, if leaning mostly on the upward side. The closing hour saw the SPX print a new historic high of 4148, and settling at 4141. On any basis... 'normal service' continues.
Volatility was subdued, the VIX ground lower, to settle -1.5% to 16.65, reflective of a very comfortable market, ahead of Q1 earnings.
