US equity indexes mostly closed a little weak, SPX -0.7pts (0.02%) at 4127.99. Nasdaq comp' -0.4%. Dow -0.2%. The Transports settled +0.3%.

Summary
It was a day of considerable minor chop, if leaning mostly on the weaker side. However, the SPX still managed a new historic (if fractional) high of 4131 in the closing hour, a reminder of underlying m/t strength.
Volatility was a little higher, if mostly due to it being a new week, the VIX settling +1.3% to 16.91.
