A net bullish day

US equity indexes closed rather mixed, SPX -6pts (0.2%) at 3962. Nasdaq comp' +0.1%. Dow -0.4%. The Transports settled -1.6%.

Summary

US equities opened choppy, if leaning to the upward side. The SPX printed a new historic high of 3981. Meanwhile, it was the one year anniversary for when the circuit breakers finally kicked in...

A 'memorable' time it was.

 


 

The afternoon saw some moderate cooling to 3953, and settling fractionally lower at 3962. With a new historic high, it is still to be seen as a net bullish day.

Volatility was subdued, the VIX printing 19.33, and settling -1.2% to 19.79.
