US equity indexes closed significantly higher, SPX +53pts (1.2%) at 4425. Nasdaq comp' +1.1%. Dow +1.3%. The Transports settled +1.6%. R2K +0.9%

Summary
US equities opened a little weak, but all the bears could manage was 4362, before battling back upward to break into the 4400s, the first time since April 2022. The SPX printed 4439 in mid afternoon, and cooling back to settle at 4425.
Volatility picked up a little, the VIX settling +4.5% to 14.50.
