Starting positive

US equity indexes closed broadly higher, SPX +53pts (1.2%) at 4591. Nasdaq comp'+0.9%. Dow +1.9%. The Transports settled +2.3%. R2K +2.0%.

Summary

US equities began the week on a positive note, and built very significant gains into the afternoon.

Meanwhile...


Indeed, those EVs sure need a small truck load of copper!


Mid/long term implications for the related copper miners, not least FCX, SCCO, TECK, and VALE.

The late afternoon saw a little cooling, but that still made for broad gains. Volatility was ground lower, the VIX settling -11.4% to 27.18. My only concern is this Friday's CPI data.
