US equity indexes closed a little higher, SPX +17pts (0.3%) at 6661. Nasdaq comp' +0.5%. Dow +0.15%. The Transports settled +0.25%. R2K +0.1%

Summary

US equities opened positive, with the SPX printing a high of 6677, if cooling back to 6661. Today's SPX candle is black doji, which leans net bearish into end month/quarter. On a stretch... the bears might print the 6580s with VIX 18s.  

Volatility picked up, but most of the gain was technical (due to the new week), the VIX settling +5.4% to 16.12.

It was a mixed week for US equity indexes, with net weekly changes ranging from -0.7% (R2K), -0.6% (Nasdaq comp'), -0.3% (SPX), -0.15% (Dow), -0.1% (NYSE comp'), to +0.8% (Trans).

Summary

Five indexes were net lower for the week, whilst the Transports was higher.

The R2K was the weakest index... if only moderately, whilst the Trans was moderately higher.

US equities opened on a positive note, with the SPX printing 6648. From there... rather swift cooling to 6604. A secondary bounce saw the market settle at 6643. Volatility was mixed, the VIX printed a morning high of 16.95, but cooled back to settle -8.7% to 15.29.

US equities opened a little mixed, and whilst the Trans/R2K struggled, the SPX still managed a new hist' high of 6671, settling moderately higher at 6664. Volatility was ground lower into the weekend, the VIX settling -1.6% to 15.45
